National MC Yoo Jae-suk (52) recently underwent an intensive tax audit by the National Tax Service, but was found to have no tax evasion charges. The Gangnam Tax Office under the Seoul Regional Tax Office conducted a tax audit of Yoo Jae-suk from June to July, but found no problems related to tax reporting errors or tax evasion.
This tax audit was a regular tax audit targeting high-income earners, including entertainers, but in Yoo Jae-suk's case, his high income and the recently purchased building worth hundreds of billions of won were the main items under investigation. Yoo Jae-suk purchased a large plot of land and building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for about 200 billion won last year, and this was the main background for the investigation.

At the end of last year, Yoo Jae-suk purchased 90.3 pyeong of land in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for 116 billion won and an 83.2 pyeong building right next to it for 82 billion won. According to the Supreme Court land registration records, it was confirmed that these real estate properties were traded entirely in cash without any mortgage settings, which drew much attention.
In addition, it was revealed that Yoo Jae-suk purchased Brighton N40, a high-priced apartment in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 86.657 billion won in cash in May. The background for Yoo Jae-suk's ability to purchase such a large amount of assets in cash was his consistent broadcasting activities and high advertising revenue over the years.
Furthermore, in June last year, Yoo Jae-suk acquired 2,699 shares (20.7% stake) of his agency Antenna for 3 billion won, becoming the third-largest shareholder.
In addition to Yoo Jae-suk's real estate purchases, this tax audit included a detailed investigation into various tax items, including high appearance fees and expense processing. Nevertheless, the National Tax Service found no issues with Yoo Jae-suk's tax reporting. This is an example that shows Yoo Jae-suk has diligently fulfilled his tax reporting obligations and responsibilities as a public figure.
