Peaches Wins 'Ultra Race 2024' - Global Recognition with Pony Drift Car

Peaches., an automotive culture group, won first place at the global automotive festival ‘Ultrace 2024’ with its self-produced ‘Peaches Pony Drift Car.’ Held annually in Poland, ‘Ultrace’ is a mega car show that attracts global attention, and Peaches is the first domestic brand to win at such an international event.

‘Ultrace 2024’ was held at the Wroclaw Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw, Poland, from June 29th to 30th (local time). Over 1,600 vehicles were meticulously selected and showcased, attracting around 50,000 visitors. Known as one of Europe's leading car festivals, ‘Ultrace’ is renowned for its rigorous vehicle selection process, rejecting thousands of applicants each year. This stringent selection process resulted in a spectacular gathering of unique and individualized custom cars that enthralled automotive enthusiasts this year.

The Uniqueness of the Peaches Pony Drift Car

The Pony Drift Car, self-produced by Peaches, garnered immense attention throughout the event. The Hyundai Pony, South Korea's first independently produced vehicle in 1975, holds significant historical value in the Korean automotive industry. Peaches collaborated with renowned global automotive concept designer Kyza to completely reinterpret this historical model, from the body to the engine. While preserving its inherent identity, the exterior was refined with the integration of new technologies and design elements. In terms of performance, it was transformed into a drift machine with a Genesis Coupe 2.0T Theta engine, generating over five times the power of the original Pony, boasting 420 horsepower, a maximum torque of 45, and a 2000cc displacement.

The Win and Its Response

The Peaches Pony received an overwhelmingly positive reception at ‘Ultrace 2024.’ The fact that a Korean classic car, the Pony, which is not readily found overseas, had been rebuilt into a drift car sparked considerable curiosity among automotive enthusiasts from around the globe. The car was lauded for its historical significance and build quality. This favorable response culminated in the Peaches Pony achieving a remarkable victory in the final tournament, where it was chosen as the best among the 1,600 carefully selected vehicles.

Driven by the immense interest in the ‘Peaches Pony,’ the merchandise, including t-shirts designed in collaboration with Spanish painting artist Samuel Almansa, sold out completely. Following the event, numerous international automotive media outlets expressed keen interest, leading to coverage, filming, passenger rides, and driving performance demonstrations.

Peaches' Future Plans

Peaches CEO, Yeontaek Yeo, stated, “While this is our second partnership, it's our first time attending in person. I'm thrilled that we've won with a meaningful Korean car. We plan to showcase the Peaches Pony in various ways in the future, so please look forward to it. And please anticipate next year's ‘Ultrace’ as well.”

Subsequently, the Peaches Pony will be showcased to global automotive enthusiasts at various domestic and international events, including Peaches' own music festival, ‘One Universe Festival 2024,’ and the automotive aftermarket exhibition, ‘2024 Autosalon Week.’
